Well done to the three young Cs players who won preforming Meatloaf’s “bat out of hell” …yes all 9mins worth

Last week results saw the premiers beat Marist 34-22, Bs beat Otautau 49-12 and the Cs had a gentlemanly 14 draw with Mataura, chin chin.

Lip sync and saturday results

Good win by the Forde Auto Services / Windsor Physio Prems over Marist by 34 to 22.

The Forklifts NZ / Harvey Tanks POB Bs registered their first win of the top 6 competition by beating Otautau 52 - 12.

The Craftys Bar POB Cs drew 14 all with Mataura.

The Lip Sync night at the club was enjoyed by a great crowd. A quality lineup (along with a couple of dodgy ones) saw the Spice Girls, S Club 7, Robert Palmer, Michael Jackson, Meatloaf, Bonnie Tyler, Bon Jovi and a couple of others take the stage.

The 2 finalists chosen by the judges were the Bs - Bon Jovi (living on a prayer) v the Cs - Meatloaf (bat out of hell & paradise by the dashboard light).

After banging out their hits again a crowd vote gave the win to Meatloaf who resorted to semi nudity to secure the win.

Good effort by the Cs - they are specialists at making finals and it was good to see them go all they way this time and get the victory.

Best dressed performer - Ropo, guitar player from Bon Jovi.

As usual the clubrooms resembled a ransacked costume shop this morning with wigs and all sorts of other stuff scattered about.

Also a big thanks to Colonial Bakery who put in a big day providing food for the junior rugby players/supporters then backing up and looking after the kitchen for the evening session.

Jesse Gibb is home for a visit and a timely appearance on the bench, bit like getting the old vintage car out of the garage… bound to cough and fart at the start but should run ok.
Suita Afa, young prop up from the Bs to give him a look at prems and promote from within.

Regards, Regan Johns
Premier Coach

After being behind 9 - 6 for most of the 2nd 1/2 the POB Prems bagged a quick 6 points in the last 5 minutes from a penalty and a drop goal to get the result - good 80 minute effort by the boys in a hard fought game.

Weekend results...

3 entertaining games at the club today - some champagne rugby was served up by the Cs v Stuffed Hawks. Apparently there was a great display of skills & fitness on the track.
The POB Bs prevailed in a tight one over Bluff 15 - 7 which was needed to keep a place in the Div3 top 6.

After seeing Marist get out to a 24 - 3 lead the POB Premiers piled on a few points in the 2nd 1/2 but couldn't quite close the gap and the score ended up 24 - 22 to Marist.

Surprise result of the round was seeing Star get up over Blues (who had a change of head coach during the week) 28 -11 to register their first win of the season.

This week at the club:

3pm Forde Auto Service/Windsor St Physio Pirates Old Boys vs Marist

2:15 Forklifts NZ Pirates Old Boys vs Bluff

1:45 Craftys Pirates Old Boys C's vs Stuffed Hawks

From the Field -
With the Cs having a bye, the Stuffed Hawks make an outing this weekend. Get down to watch. It should be a laugh or if you fancy a run I’m sure they are willing to have a few extra subs.

6 of the Bs have been promoted to the premier side for this weekend game, so it’s a great chance for Bs to test out the depth of their large squad.

The prems had a shocker run of injuries in the weekend at Gore, and have made 6 changes to the team but the challenge is there for us to still carry on as normal.

Premiers vs Marist -
1.Campbell Wood 2. Josh Leith 3. JP Koen 4.Josh Curran 5. Jimmy Affleck 6.Ben Keenan 7. Nick Hayes 8.Anton Huisman 9. Liam Howley 10.Greg Dyer 11. Ben McKercher 12. Bryan Milne 13. Chris Guild 14. Katopau Tuilaepa 15. Mike Molloy

Reserves. Lukus Murch Craig Stanway Corbin Winiata Cody Gavan Todd Schrader Lennon Gavan TBC

Ground conditions are a bit soft around the bottom edge of the grounds so bring something decent footwear wise.

See you in the club for a beer and a laugh with the old fellas from the Stuffed Hawks.
